In Fujiyoshida City, wild Japanese macaques (Nihon zaru) occasionally appear near farmlands and even tourist spots,causing crop damage and safety concerns.Instead of using harmful measures, trained Monkey Dogs help gently drive the monkeys back into the forest,proving to be an effective and humane solution.
While monkeys are the main issue, wild bears have also been spotted more frequently in recent years,making the work of local wildlife rangers even more important for community safety and ecological balance.(Note: The Monkey Dog Program focuses on macaques, not bears.)
